Domestic Electrical Solutions

Domestic Installations only use a certified Electrician

Part P Domestic Installer Scheme

Anyone carrying out electrical work in homes and gardens in England and Wales must follow the relevant rules contained in the Building Regulations. Failure to comply is a criminal offence.
These rules were introduced to reduce the number of deaths, injuries and fires caused by faulty electrical work.
We are an Approved Domestic Installer under the Part 'P' Regulations. We can deal with all the Building Regulations requirements for you.
We have been independently assessed as competent to carry out work in compliance with the Building Regulations.
You will not have to pay Building Control charges in respect of electrical work undertaken.

Old style fuse board

How Safe is your Home ?

Does the photograph above look familiar? If YES then you are are one of millions who still own a rewireable Wylex fuse board (consumer unit).

To ensure your home and family are as safe as possible, maybe you should consider a fuse board upgrade?

new fuse board

Advantages of new consumer unit.

  • A new consumer unit avoids the nuisance of replacing wires or fuses, which is dangerous if the wrong fuse wire or fuse is used.
  • New MCB boards are more sensitive and trip out much quicker when a dangerous fault occurs.
  • When installed a complete inspection and test will be carried out on your installation and a completed set of certificates issued.
  • New MCB boards are less likely to cause a fire if installed properly by a qualified electrical contractor.
  • Look more attractive, especially when in full view and are installed with "spare" circuit capacity.
  • Provide RCD 30ma protection for sockets, lights, cooker, etc and all wiring within your walls, which are requirements of BS7671 17th Edition Wiring Regulations (any wire within 50mm of the surface of a wall requires additional protection).

If you require an estimate for a new fuse box (consumer unit) please contact us. All our consumer unit installations include earthing upgrades where required by BS7671 current
regulations, and a complete set of certificates.
